Lights out is a small electronic game that's a few years old.
Here's how it works: there is an array of buttons (the electronic
game is 5x5 or 6x6, my version is 5x5) that can be lit up or not lit
up. You start out with a puzzle, consisting of certain buttons lit
and the rest not. When you push a button, it is reversed as well as
the four adjacent buttons (it wraps around the sides). The object is
to get all of the buttons to be the same. (Or maybe it matters if
none or all are lit, I don't remember). It's a very simple game, but
it can be fun.
The electronic version has certain preset puzzles, which vary
in difficulty. My version simply works backwards from the solution
several moves to create a puzzle.
