                Roadrunner presents
               	  Duel 2000 V1.1

Do you remember Artillery Duel on the good old C64?
(Two players want to shoot each other with a cannon.)
This is a clone for your TI-82.

This program may be freely distributed as long as no
changes are made to the program or the documentation.

The game consists of only one file. This makes it a little
bit longer, but it is easier for you to keep the overview
if you have a lot of stuff (like me) on your calculator.
All you have to do is to send "duel.82p" to your calculator.
At the moment it uses no matrices or lists but nearly
all variables, pic6 (only in LINK-MODE) and GDB6 (for restoring
user modes).

In the menu you can choose between 4 options:

1 player	: starts the game for 1 player
2 players	: starts the game for 2 players
2 players link	: starts the game in LINK-MODE
quit : quits the game (yes, really!)

After starting the game for 1 player or 2 players in LINK-MODE
you have to chose whether you are player 1 or player 2 (player 1
will always be on the left side).

Now each player can select his rank:
Private - 60 seconds for aiming
Captain - 30 seconds for aiming
General - 15 seconds for aiming

You should not measure the time with a stop watch because
the speed of the calculator depends on allocated memory and
freshness of batteries.
In 1 player game there is no time limit for the TI-82,
but the higher the selected rank the better the aiming.

In aiming mode you can do this:
<up>/<down> -change the angle between 0 and 90
        <left>/<right> -change power between 0 and 99
        <[2nd]> -fire!!!

Watch the wind!

Something about LINK-MODE:
I have implemented this MODE only to show that LINK GAME
is possible, but I think it's more fun to play on one TI-82.
If your calculator is receiving, you have to tell your opponent
when it is finished, so that he can press [Enter] (i.e. after
you have received the landscape pic and when cannon starts
shooting). While your calculator is waiting to receive you can
return to main menu by pressing [Y=] (so you can escape if
linking doesn't work).

I hope you'll enjoy the game.

Some words in German:
Bevor irgendwelche Fragen aufkommen: Nein, ich habe keine
weiteren Programme fr den TI-82 geschrieben.
Fr den TI-92 allerdings habe ich noch einige Basic-
Programme entwickelt, nur eben in Deutsch:

-ein paar statistische Funktionen zur multiplen Regression
-die School Tools (Organicer, VT92 und YA-WHO?)
-kleinere (sinnlose) Programme

schicken.
